35 years after my first visit to the Acropolis, the Acropolis Restoration Service (YSMA)  trusted  our family business  with the sculpting of nine drums  and the creation of  two triglyphs  and two cornices  in final form for the restoration of the Parthenon.

Signing the contract I could hardly keep my tears. The whole process that involved  the sculpting  of the drums, their  transport in Athens, their lifting in the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis and their  final acceptance by the technicians of the Acropolis was one  of the most important periods of my life. A period of  hard work charged with mixed feelings of excitement, pride, tension, anxiety and great agony. Great agony for  the final result. Because for someone to achieve on Pentelic marble the absolute accuracy of the drums and the artistic details of cornices and triglyphs  requires capacity, knowledge, patience, persistence and a lot of ‘madness’.

The implementation of  the strict technical specifications of the Parthenon  is mainly due to my son Konstantinos, who was watching  closely the sculptors at all stages of processing with much patience and thoroughness.

We consider  our participation in the restoration of the Parthenon  as a major  honour and every action taken was accompanied by awe for the sanctity of our mission.
